“Child with an Orange” painted by Van Gogh

He starts to say goodbye.
As he walks away he hands me an orange.
“Something sweet for someone sweet”, he whispers into my ear.

Instantly, I blush as he walks away.
I smile back at him and wave goodbye.
Collapsing into the yellow dandelions surrounding me, I happily sigh.

Watching him walk away into the sunset,
I embrace the orange in my hands.
I am happy now and forever.

I will never let go,
I will never let go of him,
I will never let go of this memory.

“The Radiance of Relaxation”

Pebbles thrown across the lake:

The detachment from my mom’s promises

Comes out in anger

With each toss.

The angle at which I stand,

Powerful and stern,

Looks back at my reflection.

My purple dress seems

To float in the water.

Staring out into the horizon

As the sun beams onto the lake,

I start to feel a sense of relief:

A chemical reaction between the light and my emotions.

Then, a sudden change:

I am at ease,

I am relaxed,

I am no longer angry.

The pebble is now softly tossed.

The ripples of my heart are calm once again.

Are you alive?

"I believe that life is a prize, but to live doesn't mean your alive".

The Power of One

As Maggie Kuhn once said, "Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes". Speaking your mind is important, it's how others know how you feel, it's a way to make friends, it's a way to apologize for the wrong you have done, and it’s a way to uncover your voice to your fellow neighbors. Having a voice and letting others here your voice comes across through music and poetry. But that is not the only way to express yourself. Express yourself through capturing life around you with a photo. My favorite photos are of ones who are different. Something may appear so different, but yet be the same as the object standing in front of it. The power of one can change anything and everything, so dance into life and live to dance and honor your teachers for you too can be a teacher to the world surrounding you.

I Am For...

The one I turn to as life moves busy around me.
From a bad day at school to a monthly argument at home,
You are my escape, my healer, my survivor.

I can never do wrong with you by my side.
You allow me to express myself without the fear of judgment.
The judgment that others so easily portray as fast as portraying a smile.

As I sway back and forth to your movement,
Your addicting and impulsive affect on me makes me cry, makes me forget,
Makes me remember, and even makes me burst out with excitement and joy.

You are apart of me! A part of me that I will never let go,
That will be here until I no longer exist, a part of me that will always accept me for me.
I am for you now and always, I am for music!
